THE FOLLOWING CONTEST IS INTENDED FOR PLAY IN THE 50 UNITED STATES AND DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA ("D.C.") AND SHALL ONLY BE CONSTRUED AND EVALUATED ACCORDING TO U.S. LAW. DO NOT ENTER THIS CONTEST IF YOU OR THE PERSON YOU ARE NOMINATING ARE NOT A LEGAL RESIDENT OF AND LOCATED IN THE 50 UNITED STATES OR D.C. AT TIME OF ENTRY.

Rebuilding Together's Tradesperson of the Year Contest

  1. NO PURCHASE NECESSARY. VOID OUTSIDE THE 50 UNITED STATES AND D.C., AND WHEREVER PROHIBITED. Contest begins online at 9 p.m., EST, on August 10, 2010 and ends at 11:59 p.m. EST on November 16, 2010, (the "Promotion Period"). The online nomination form and public voting form may be obtained at the contest micro-site (http://RTTradespersonOfTheYear.com) during the Promotion Period and Public Voting Period. No mail-in, e-mail or fax entries will be accepted.

    How to Submit a Nomination:
    In order to nominate one (1) person (male or female) as the 2010 "Rebuilding Together Tradesperson of the Year?," provide the information requested in all categories in the space(s) designated in the nomination form. Be sure to include all information requested, including your organization name, your name, title, phone number and e-mail address, as well as the name, address and telephone number of the person you are nominating for the "Rebuilding Together Tradesperson of the Year?." Self-nominations are prohibited. All nominations should be from individuals familiar with the nominee's work in the community or with Rebuilding Together. All nomination submissions must adhere to the 250 words or less requirement for the section explaining why the nominee should be the Rebuilding Together Tradesperson of the Year. Any submission with more than 250 words in this section will be subject to disqualification.

    Submit your nomination online as instructed. Nominations must be received by 11:59 p.m., EST, Monday, November 16, 2010. Rebuilding Together and the contest sponsors assume no responsibility for lost, late, misdirected, illegible, incomplete, or garbled nominations, all of which will be disqualified. All nominations received become the property of Rebuilding Together and will not be returned. Nominations are limited to one (1) per nominator. If one person is nominated by more than one nominator, Rebuilding Together reserves the right to select one nomination form for the basis of judging.

    There will be one finalist in each of the following categories:

    • Carpenter
    • Contractor
    • Electrician
    • HVAC/Plumber
    • Painter
    • Roofer
  2. Judging: All nominations received will be judged by qualified judges on the basis of the following criteria:

    • Service to Community (25%)
      • Contribution to success of nonprofit
      • Leadership role provided to nonprofit
    • Contribution to industry or trade (25%)
      • Industry skills and expertise
      • Leadership role in industry or trade
      • Service to industry or trade
    • Living the values of the Presenting Sponsor (WD-40 brand) & Rebuilding Together (25%)
      • Honesty
      • Integrity
      • Versatility/Flexibility
      • Problem Solving Skills
      • Getting the job done
    • Public vote (25%)

    In the event of a tie, Rebuilding Together will determine the finalists and Grand Prize winner on the basis of their Leadership role score. Based on a review of nominations by the judging panel according to the criteria above, six (6) finalists will be given a phone interview by select judging panel members to help determine the Grand Prize winner. Grand Prize winner will be selected based on a combination of the online nominations, phone interviews and public voting component. The same criteria and weighting noted above will determine the Grand Prize winner.

    Judging to select the six (6) finalists will be conducted on or about December 7, 2010. The judging to select one (1) Grand Prize winner and five (5) Runner-up Prize winners from among the six (6) finalists will be conducted on or about January 6, 2011. The decisions of the judges will be final in all matters relating to this Contest. Public Member Voting: Rebuilding Together Tradesperson of the Year sponsors will take into account public voting as a factor in determining the winner of the Contest. Individuals may vote once every 24 hours at the Contest micro-site (http://RTTradespersonOfTheYear.com) during the public voting portion of the contest, which shall be from 12 a.m. EST on December 8, 2010 to 11:59 p.m. EST on January 6, 2011. Nominee finalists may only vote for their own submission once during the duration of the campaign.

  3. Prizes: Grand Prize: One (1) Grand Prize will be awarded, consisting of round-trip coach airline transportation for two (2) to Dallas, TX from major airport nearest winner's home, hotel accommodations (double occupancy) for five (5) days/four (4) nights, rental car (eligible drivers only), meal stipend for two, recognition at the NFL/Rebuilding Together News Conference, two (2) tickets to Super Bowl XLV, a package of tools and products from the Sears Blue Tool Crew, WD-40 Company products;

    Winners are responsible for other meals, taxes, gratuities and all other expenses not specified herein. Exact travel dates and arrangements subject to availability. Actual value of trip depends on point of departure and airfare fluctuations. Winners and guests must travel together on dates to be specified by Rebuilding Together, or prize will be forfeited in its entirety. If game is cancelled for any reason, or postponed beyond winner's stay in Dallas, TX, no compensation will be awarded in lieu thereof but remainder of prize package may be awarded at Rebuilding Together's discretion. Approximate retail value of Grand Prize: $26,000 (U.S.);

    Runner-Up Prizes: Five (5) Runner-Up Prizes will be awarded, each consisting of prizes donated by various sponsors. Approximate retail value: $2,500 (U.S.); per prize. Total Approximate retail value of all prizes: $12,500 (U.S.);

    Those who nominated each of the five (5) runner-up Rebuilding Together Tradesperson of the Year? finalists will be awarded $1,000 of prizes donated by various sponsors. The individual who nominated the one (1) winning Rebuilding Together Tradesperson of the Year will be awarded $1,500 of prizes donated by various sponsors.

    Prizes are non-transferable. No prize substitutions or cash equivalents will be made except at Rebuilding Together's sole discretion or as provided herein. Rebuilding Together reserves the right to offer a prize of equal or greater value should a featured prize or any portion thereof become unavailable. Taxes on prizes (if any) are the responsibility of the winner. All prizes will be awarded to the persons named on the nominations, and NOT to the persons who submitted the nominations.

  4. Winners will be notified by phone and/or e-mail and postal mail by or about January 7, 2011. Winners will be required to sign and return an affidavit of eligibility and liability/publicity release (where permitted) within 5 days of notification or prize may be forfeited and awarded to an alternate winner (time permitting) on the basis of the criteria set forth herein. Except where prohibited, acceptance of a prize constitutes winner's consent to use winner's name, likeness and biographical data for advertising and promotional purposes worldwide without limitation and without additional compensation.

  5. Eligibility: Nominators and nominees must be legal residents of the 50 United States, District of Columbia, and 18 years of age or older. Employees of Rebuilding Together, WD-40 Company and its parent company, affiliates, subsidiaries, distributors, retailers and advertising and promotion agencies and the immediate family and household members of each of the above are not eligible. Federal, state, provincial, and local laws and regulations apply.

  6. CAUTION: ANY ATTEMPT BY A NOMINATOR, NOMINEE OR ANY OTHER INDIVIDUAL TO DELIBERATELY DAMAGE ANY WEBSITE OR UNDERMINE THE LEGITIMATE OPERATION OF THE CONTEST MAY BE A VIOLATION OF CRIMINAL AND CIVIL LAWS. SHOULD SUCH AN ATTEMPT BE MADE, REBUILDING TOGETHER RESERVES THE RIGHT TO SEEK DAMAGES FROM ANY SUCH PERSON TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.

  7. Limitation of Liability: Neither Rebuilding Together nor any sponsor assumes responsibility for lost, late, misdirected, incomplete, garbled, or unintelligible nominations, or for theft, destruction or unauthorized access to, or alteration of, nominations. Rebuilding Together and the Contest sponsors are not responsible for any incorrect or inaccurate information, whether caused by website users or any of the equipment or programming associated with or utilized in the Contest, or for any technical or human error which may occur in the transmission or processing of submissions in the Contest. Neither Rebuilding Together nor any sponsor assume responsibility for any error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission, failures or technical malfunction of any telephone network or lines, computer online systems, servers, providers, computer equipment, software, email, players or browsers, whether due to technical problems, traffic congestion on the Internet or at any website, or to any combination of the foregoing. Rebuilding Together and the Contest sponsors are not responsible for any injury or damage to participants or to any computer related to or resulting from participating or downloading materials in this Contest. By participating in this Contest, participants agree to release, discharge and hold harmless Rebuilding Together, and its agents, directors, officers, employees, insurers, servants, affiliates, predecessors, successors, representatives, advertising, promotion, and fulfillment agencies, and legal advisors, and all others associated with the development and execution of the Promotion, from any and all losses, damages, rights, claims and actions of any kind arising out of or relating to the Contest, participation in the Contest, any prize, or any portion thereof that may have been awarded, and/or acceptance, possession, use or misuse of any prize, or any portion thereof that may have been awarded, including but not limited to statutory and common law claims for misappropriation or participant's right of publicity. If, for any reason, the Contest is not capable of running as planned, including but not limited to infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failures, or any other causes beyond the control of Rebuilding Together which corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of this Contest, Rebuilding Together reserves the right in its sole discretion to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the Contest and select the winners from among all eligible entries received prior to the time such action was taken.

  8. Submission of a nomination grants Rebuilding Together the right to use, publish, adapt, edit and/or modify such nomination in any way, in any and all media worldwide, without limitation or compensation to the nominator or nominee. Submission of a nomination further constitutes the nominator's consent to irrevocably assign and transfer to Rebuilding Together any and all rights, title and interest in and to the submission, including but not limited to all intellectual property rights.

  9. For names of winners, send a self-addressed, stamped envelope to Rebuilding Together, 1899 L Street NW, Washington DC 20036 by February 6, 2011. Canadian residents may omit return postage.
