William Watts

Electrician Electricians Local 164 - 15 years

Nominated by Cynthia Desouza from NJ

About William:

Bill has been dedicated to the mission of our organization, which is to provide warm, safe and dry homes for low-income single parents, senior, disabled and veteran homeowners in our community. He has been volunteering with Rebuilding Together Essex, N.J. over 12 years. Bill has not only volunteered a much-needed skill but has been able to obtain the service of hundreds of electrical workers over the years. We don't know what resources we will have as we prepare our budgets and review the applications that come through our office. However, we always know that we can count on the electricians to be there to provide repairs and modifications. They come early and stay late. Bill makes sure that the electricians come prepared to do a job and do it with compassion and expertise. It is a wonderful feeling to know that serious safety hazards will be eliminated through the efforts of this one man and the team he pulls together each year. The homeowners would not otherwise be able to afford these repairs. Through Bill's continued efforts and his encouragement to the other electricians to participate, many homes have avoided the hazards of electrical fires, etc. He has recently been elected president of our affiliate and we look forward to the additional resources Bill is committed to engage in order to increase our capacity to stabilize neighborhoods and preserve families and homes.
